Are you considering taking a Pilates class? Pilates is a great workout option for all fitness levels and has several benefits.
A study from the Journal of Physical Therapy Science found that two Pilates sessions a week over three months improved lower body strength, postural balance, and quality of life in older individuals.
Key Pilates stretches such as the wall roll down, spine stretch, saw, swan, hip stretch and side stretch can help loosen your muscles and combat stiffness. These stretches increase the flexibility of the back, front body, side body, hamstrings and hips.
Pilates exercises require proper alignment and good balance. A regular mat or reformer routine will help you stand tall and have great posture.
A consistent Pilates routine is a full-body workout that combined with healthy eating can support weight loss.
Your core supports your upper body frame, neck, shoulders, and back. The stability you gain from a regular Pilates routine improves your core muscles and endurance.
